Family
My family is an integral part of who I am. From my mom's side I'm Jewish, and from my dad's I'm Italian. From Passover seders to Easter Sunday lunches, the family gatherings of my childhood have formed my identity. And if there's anything that both my cultures have taught me, it's that food brings people together. These posts bring you recipes with family stories behind them, like the matzo brei of my childhood, or my uncle Larry's tips for "ciambotta" (an Italian vegetable stew called "jamot" in my family). Some of them don't have recipes at all; they are simply a look into some of our many gatherings, from weddings (both of family and of friends who feel like family) to family trips, to my dad's infamous yearly pizza party. I hope that these posts give you a glimpse into who I am at my core, and the way my family has influenced that.
